Rune Bosse (b. 1987)

Teaterpassagen by Ramsherred 9b.

Rune Bosse works with nature and flora and fauna as material. He carefully collects plants found in nature, using them as basis for his works which thematically address the relationship between man and nature.

With his work Imagine Possible Trees, Rune Bosse places time in a poetic context in the form of a garden for reflection and an imaginary wood. A portal created by two metal trees defines the ‘view’ through the historical passage, extending it from Ramsherred down towards Skrænten. This gives on to a small garden where one can sit down for a rest during a shopping trip or walk. Below the pergola’s natural roof of Virginia creeper, wisteria, and hydrangea, a handmade oak bench offers time for reflection. From the bench, you can see reliefs of Bosse’s studies of trees on the surrounding wall and imagine the large forests defining the boundary of Aabenraa to the north, south, and west. Trees instil peacefulness, bind and convert pollution into oxygen, and their slowness contrasts the rate of acceleration experienced in everyday life. The changing seasons are manifest in the colours of the creepers, marking the passing of time.
